  • GO TO ANNE FRANK HOUSE

As a man big on my war history and as someone who has read the book I wanted to experience the Anne Frank House for myself. It’s such an incredible story that I needed to satisfy my imagination and see the place for myself. It was an eye opening experience and well worth the time. You can read about my time in Amsterdam here.

  • DIVE THROUGH A RING OF FIRE

Who doesn’t want to dive through a ring of fire? It’s not your everyday bucket list achievement but it’s something cool to say you’ve done. I had my opportunity when I was in Thailand on the beach in Ko Toa. There was a big circle of people with the ring of fire in the middle and someone would step in and jump through. Some did it and some did not, I did it, it wasn’t the best landing I’ve ever had and it was short lived when I tried the skipping rope of fire and took a flaming rope to the head as soon as I jumped in. But, all in all, I fucking loved it.

  • EXPERIENCE THE FULL MOON PARTY IN THAILAND

The biggest beach party in the world, maybe? Who doesn’t want to celebrate the New Year in style and what better place than the famous or infamous full moon party in Thailand? It was everything I hope for it to be. You can read my blog on the full moon party here.

  • SEE HALONG BAY

This beautiful cluster of prehistoric rocks make for one of the most majestic world heritage sites on the planet. I could not live my life without seeing the natural beauty of this place. This should be on everyone’s bucket list. You can read more about my time in Halong Bay.

  • VISIT ANGKOR WAT

Angkor Wat is the most impressive temple on the face of the earth and seeing it was probably the most favourite travel experience I have. I LOVED Cambodia as a country and I LOVED Siem Reap as a place. I would love to do back one day. Check out my blog on Angkor Wat.

  • FIRE A GUN

I found myself in Cambodia when I had the opportunity to fire a gun. We were driven to a place hidden away from everything and presented with a menu of various guns and prices. We picked the AK47, Magnum revolver (my choice) and a Desert Eagle Semi-Automatic pistol. I clenched the snub-nosed magnum and fire the bullets with pure delight. It was a fun experience. We got to try out different guns, firing bullets at targets.

  • DIVE THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

This is a popular choice for the ole’ bucket list. Once I obtained my divers licence it went straight on mine. I managed to give this a big tick when I was in Australia. We did a day tour of the Great Barrier Reef, we done two dives and the overall experience as incredible, you can read more about it here!

  • DO A BUNGY JUMP

Another popular choice but one I’m happy to say I’ve done it. I was in New Zealand when I had to chance to bungee jump 134 metres, the famous Nevis bungee is somewhat of a checkpoint for backpackers. Still to this day it’s the most exhilarating thing I’ve ever done, but I’m yet to do a skydive. Check out my bungy jump blog!

  • SEE THE GRAND CANYON

I imagine this is probably the second most popular bucket list choice (after swimming with dolphins), I’ve been to the Grand Canyon twice now, it’s my love for Las Vegas that got me here, it’s a hellova  a place and there’s not many better sites than seeing a huge Californian condor soar through the canyon while the sun sets. Truly majestic. You can check out more time at the Grand Canyon National Park here.

  • VISIT BRUCE LEE’S GRAVE

Bruce Lee was a hero to me when I was growing up and I wanted to pay my respects. I usually find out if there are any famous grave stones before I head off to a particular destination. I’m not sure if that’s weird or not… Check out my blog on Seattle.

  • SPEND NEW YEARS IN BERLIN

Berlin is probably the best place to spend New Year’s in Europe. It’s a great city break any time of the year but when New Year’s comes around the place is amazing. There’s lots going on, not to mention the 1 million strong partying at Brandenburg gate, check out the Berlin for New Year’s blog!

  • MEET A SLOTH IN COSTA RICA

For some reason or another I’ve always been fascinated with these little creatures. I wanted to meet and hold a sloth, so I went out my way to make sure I did! It was in Costa Rica when I found the sloth that would give me the bucket list tick I so desired. You can read more about my Costa Rica travels here.

  • SPEND ST PADDY’S DAY IN DUBLIN

I put this on my bucket list as Dublin is the place to be for Paddy’s day right? Well, after experiencing it, I can say I’ll probably prefer Dublin on any other weekend. It’s wall to wall of drunken green people and you have to get next level drunk to survive, luckily, it’s a skill I have.

  • TAKE ON THE INCA TRAIL IN PERU

This is without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. I tracked for 4 days and got to see Machu Picchu. I’ll never forget the experience. I will forever cherish it. It really is a great thing to do. You can read more about the time I trekked Machu Picchu here.

  • SPEND THE NIGHT ON AN EXOTIC BEACH

Who doesn’t want to spend a night on an exotic beach? Where in the world it will be I don’t know but somewhere in the Caribbean I hope. I can only hope it has a romantic story behind it and not a overly drunken one…

  • GO ON SAFARI

My favourite animal is a Rhinos and with photography being a passion of mine, I’d love to see wild Rhinos and other exotic animals in their natural habitat. This is something I can’t wait to achieve.

  • SPEND NEW YEAR OR CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK

The ultimate place to spend New Year’s Eve. I refuse to do this until I’m with ‘the one’. It needs to be romantic. I just hope it’s like the movies.

  • CLIMB MT FUJI

I plan on ticking this one off the list soon. You can only climb Mount Fuji in the months of July and August. Japan is no doubt at the top of the list of countries I most want to visit. I can’t wait to get up there and take some beautiful photos!

  • GET DRUNK AT OKTOBERFEST

I’m good at getting drunk everywhere else so I need to hone my skills at the place built on beer. I hope this will be on a lads holiday, I want to wear the full lederhosen gear and everything when im chugging down my huge stein full of premium German beer.

  • DO A SKYDIVE

This is likely to be on every ones bucket list and mine is no exception. I yearn for the day I jump out of a plane at 15,000ft and fall towards the earth. It just sounds amazing and I can’t imagen what it must feel like.

  • RIDE A HARLEY ACROSS AMERICA

This is number 1 on my list. I was inspired to do this by an article I read in a bike magazine. I was on a plane and I had purchased the magazine to entertain me for the flight. I read about this lad who saved up £3,000 and travelled from L.A. to New York in just over 2 weeks. I would like to take a little more time but the journey would be the most epic of achievements and one I hope that I achieve one day soon…

  • FLY FIRST CLASS

Everybody should fly first class. I could never afford first class but then I found a way which would allow me to fly first class without breaking the bank. I signed up to a points credit card and now after spending a bit and referring others, I have enough points to fly anywhere in the world in first class! But, I’m saving it for a special occasion.

  • WATCH BULLFIGHTING IN SPAIN

I’m not pro-bullfighting, I’m just somebody who wants to see and experience for myself. It’s barbaric but it’s been a big part of Spanish culture for a very long time. I’m living in southern Spain at the moment so it won’t be long before I tick this one off.

  • PARTY IN NEW ORLEANS

This is probably the hardest one to achieve. I have no idea when I’ll ever be in or near New Orleans. I would love to road trip around the south of America; eat excessive amounts or BBQ food and party with the locals. A man can dream though. A man can dream.

  • GO TO CANCUN FOR SPRING BREAK

The time is ticking on this one. I can’t be seen partying with college girls in my 30s. I’ve got a few years yet but I’m cutting it short. I would love to get this one ticked off the list!

  • WATCH AN NFL GAME IN AMERICA

I’ve never seen any live American sport and I’d love to see a NFL game, ideally in Texas or Philadelphia where I can watch the Eagles (my favourite team). I’ll get this ticked off the next time I’m in the states.

  • TAKE A CRUISE ON THE NILE

I would love to visit Egypt but the best way to do it would be a cruise on the Nile, that way I can see everything in one go. Plus, I’d have experienced a cruise too. The cruise would stop at each of the famous ancient Egyptian attractions, so I don’t have to see one place and then fly back to see another.

  • SWIM WITH DOLPHINS

This is the number 1 thing on most people’s bucket list. I’m not sure why it’s so popular, I felt like I had to experience it for myself and find out for myself. I’ve never had the desire to swim with dolphins but if it’s the number one choice then there must be something special about it!

  • EXPERIENCE THE RIO CARNIVAL

I hope to get over to Brazil and party soon. I would love to live in Rio for 6 months. I wish I taught English there when I was a bit younger. The Rio Carnival looks incredible and I’d love to be in Rio during the carnival. What a place.

  • VIST A BUDDEST MONASTERY

I’ve always been interesting in Buddhism and I would love to spend some time in a Buddhist Monastery. I plan on visiting one when I’m in India. I have always thought about doing something like this for a long time. Who knows, maybe at some point in my life I’ll feel like a Buddhist Monastery would be the best place for me.

  • GO TO BURNING MAN FESTIVAL

This looks like my kind of festival. I’ve never really been to a proper festival, this one feels like it would be quite a bizarre experience. I imagine it would be a great place to meet the most fascinating people. I really hope this one gets a big tick.

  • SMOKE A FRESHLY ROLLED CIGAR IN CUBA

Cuba will most likely be my next solo backpacking trip and I hope to do it this year. I would love to travel around Cuba, take great photos and smoke a freshly made cigar. I enjoyed my cigars before I quit smoking. But, I’ll certainly make an exception for this. I’ll get the Che Guevara style photo too.
